Most original axles and housings are so beat up and worn they're barely up to the task of a stock engine, much less the high output you're likely putting in your project.
To simplify your project, we build up a brand new Moser 9" thick wall round-back housing, add a drain plug, a new axle vent, a braided stainless brake hose kit with new brass Mopar-style Tee, we weld on all the correct suspension mounting brackets, and powdercoat the housing satin black to match the suspension. Then we include a matching set of heavy duty Moser 31-spline axles with 2.5” offset, big ford tapered bearings(78 ford truck), screw-in studs, and an access hole in the flange to access retainer nuts.
If you are using your suspension as "Stock Location" - meaning stock lower mounting points and you are not widening the wheelwells, select "Stock Location" above.
If you are using "Inboard" suspension, meaning you are moving the links inboard and widening the wheelwells in to the frame, select "Inboard" above.
We typically make these housings stock width, as you simply order the correct backspacing on the wheels to fit. But if you want deep looking wheels just for the style of it you may want a narrowed housing. If a custom width is desired you can call us to special order. If you are using stock location you can narrow the housing 1" per side, if inboard you can narrow up to 3" per side to have deeper looking wheels.
